Dua Lipa is an English artist and performer born on August 22, 1995, in London United Kingdom. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017 following her been signed by Warner Bros Records. It climbed to the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released and included Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked at the number 6 spot in the United States. Lipa received the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album has been certified platinum across the globe in a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was born in London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. Lipa's grand-fathers were both history professors. She is the sister of Rina Lipa and one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the guitarist and singer in the Kosovan rock group Oda. At home, her father would play his own compositions and songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five years old. The Sylvia Young Theater School was where she started singing as she was nine years old. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm Goin' to You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. In 2014 Lipa was signed to a contract to Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released on August 2015.
